A BBC children's TV presenter has been released on bail after being arrested over the death of his girlfriend in London.

Mark Speight was held after fellow presenter Natasha Collins was found dead in a bath yesterday afternoon.

Mr Speight, who was arrested at the scene, has since been bailed to return to a central London police station next month.

The death is being treated as "unexplained", a Scotland Yard spokesman said.

Mr Speight and his girlfriend are thought to have lived together. He is best known for the BBC children's show SMart,which has run for more than 10 years.

He shot to fame as the rubber-faced presenter of Children's ITV Saturday morning show, Scratchy & Co.

Ms Collins starred alongside him on the BBC children's show See It Saw It.
