Any new tribunal dealing with payments to politicians should be televised, the Green Party TD for Dublin South East, Mr John Gormley, said yesterday. He added that provision for this should be included in its terms of reference.
"We are constantly reminded about our democratic rights here in Ireland. If the tribunal was open to all through television, it would really be democracy in action, bringing home to people the importance of the proceedings."
