Ankara - A senior army commander was yesterday quoted as saying that Turkey will bomb the sites of Russian ground-to-air missiles in Cyprus if the systems ordered by Greek Cypriot officials reach the divided island.
"If the missiles reach the Greek Cypriots despite our efforts to prevent their deployment, the government will make a decision and we will hit them," the unnamed general told journalists at a reception on Saturday night, according to all leading Turkish newspapers.
