Nicosia - The head of Turkey's military arrived in the north of Cyprus yesterday after a warning from Ankara that it might boost its forces there in a row over missile purchases.

"The Turkish Cypriot people should not be nervous about the recent increased arms build-up by the Greek Cypriots," the chief of staff, Mr Ismail Hakki Karadayi, said.
