Ankara - Turkey, frustrated by exclusion from the EU's enlargement plans, yesterday suggested reduced interest in full membership of the Union, saying it would seek new co-operation with other areas in the world.

"Turkey is not condemned to a waiting process whose duration and result are uncertain," the Foreign Minister, Mr Ismail Cem said. "On the one hand, Turkey will continue its efforts to join the EU without making this issue an obsession.
