Oil and gas exploration group Tullow Oil's subsidiary Energy Africa has signed a production-sharing contract with the government of Uganda, the company reported today.

Energy Africa and Heritage Oil Corporation will both hold a 50 per cent interest in Block 1 in the Albertine Graben, Uganda. Heritage will act as operator, Tullow said.

Exploration undertaken in these areas, including drilling and seismic surveys, has demonstrated the presence of hydrocarbon reservoir and potentially large structures, it said.
