Tullow Oil said it has found a commercial light oil accumulation at its Odum-1 exploration in Ghana and that it plans to suspend the Ngassa-1 exploration well in Uganda due to persistent borehole instability.

The independent oil company said the oil discovery in the Odum well has opened up a new prospective play in the region.

The company also said it will re-drill from an alternative location at Block 2 in Uganda.
