The Teachers Union of Ireland has decided to suspend its threatened industrial action which was scheduled to take place today, following agreement with management in the State's RTCs and DITs.

The TUI said the action was being suspended because management of the colleges had agreed to discuss the high levels of nonpermanent teachers being employed.
