The owner of Europe's largest travel company TUI Travel, said today it still expected to post a 2009 profit after its first-quarter underlying operating loss widened.

Its underlying loss before interest, tax and amortisation widened to €324.2 million ($427 million) from a loss of €213.7 million in the same period last year.
