Dakar - The ceasefire agreed between army rebels and the government of Guinea-Bissau was breached one day after it was signed, the West African country's defence minister said yesterday.

"These people [rebels] have already violated today the agreement we signed yesterday [Sunday]. They have attacked three places," Mr Samba Lamine Mane told Senegal's state television after a meeting with President Abdou Diouf.
