Trial starts for man accused of wife's murder

A jury was today sworn in for the trial of a man accused of murdering his wife 10 years ago.

A jury was today sworn in for the trial of a man accused of murdering his wife 10 years ago.

John Diver, a former hospital porter of Kilnamanagh Road, Walkinstown, Dublin, was convicted of murder in November 2000.

His wife Geraldine was found strangled in her car at Robin Hood Road, Clondalkin, on December 2nd, 1996.

Mr Justice Paul Carney swore in a jury for the trial at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin. The case is expected to last around two weeks.
