The trial of a Derry man accused of murdering a mother of four in the city has been adjourned at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin.

Stephen Cahoon (38), Harvey Street, Derry pleaded not guilty to the murder of Jean Teresa Quigley (30) on July 26th, 2008, at a house in Cornshell Fields, Derry.

A jury was sworn in on Monday and the trial was due to begin yesterday.Mr Justice Garrett Sheehan said an issue had arisen requiring that the case be adjourned.

The jury was dismissed and the case put into the next list to fix dates on May 30th.
