A trial date of October 18th next was set at Wexford Circuit Criminal Court yesterday in the case involving the death of Wexford woman Evelyn Joel, who died of malnourishment.

Her daughter Eleanor Joel, and Eleanor Joel’s partner, John Costen, of Cluain Dara, Enniscorthy, Co Wexford, have pleaded not guilty to reckless endangerment and manslaughter of Mrs Joel (59), between December 1st, 2005, and January 7th, 2006. Mrs Joel died some days after she was taken to hospital.
