People are advance buying their summer holiday foreign currency "in droves" ahead of the general election, it was claimed yesterday. A spokesman for one travel firm said that while holiday bookings were running on a par with 12 months ago, foreign currency and travellers cheque sales were up by 57 per cent since the election was called.
