One man was taken to hospital with light injuries earlier today after fire services attended the scene of a blaze which forced the part-closure of North Circular Road in Dublin.

Motorists were advised to use alternatives routes while the house fire, which broke out at about 9am, was extinguished.

The North Circular Road was closed between the junction of O'Devaney Gardens and Infirmary Road, but was reopened at about midday.

A man aged 42 was taken to the Mater hospital but his injuries were not considered serious, a Garda spokesperson said.
