Folk singer Dolores Keane yesterday pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
Glenties District Court in Co Donegal was told a charge against her of careless driving was being withdrawn by the State.
It is the second time within six months that Keane (58) has admitted drink-driving. Last December she was banned by Judge Mary Fahy from driving for three years at Galway District Court for a drink-driving offence in November 2010.
That court was told she had a conviction for a previous similar offence in June 2000.
Defence solicitor Rory O’Brien told Judge Paul Kelly yesterday: “I can confirm Ms Keane is entering a plea of guilty to the charge of drink-driving and the State is withdrawing a careless driving charge.”
Judge Kelly adjourned sentence on Keane, Caherlistrane, Tuam, Co Galway, to June 27th.
