The Budget's tourism measures were welcomed yesterday by Bord Failte, which said the provisions would particularly benefit small and medium-sized companies and would stimulate job creation.

It particularly welcomed the £3.5 million allocation for tourism marketing initiatives, the special scheme to help hotels in seven counties, and the extension of time for projects under the designated Seaside Resort Scheme and the Urban Renewal Scheme in the upper Shannon area.
