The 11-year-old girl who was injured during the Tour de France race as it passed through Co Waterford on July 13th was said last night to be in a more stable condition.

The girl, Laura Seward, from Tramore, was with her parents near the village of Grange when a cyclist struck her.

She had been on a ventilating machine and it was thought she had suffered brain damage.
