PARIS - The French government yesterday appeared to have shelved a Bill stiffening anti-racism laws that was drawn up as a response to far-right leader, Mr Jean-Marie Le Pen's public espousal of racial inequality

The Bill, drafted by the Justice Minister, Mr Jacques Toubon, was left out of the government-arranged agenda of the National Assembly for the next six months.
