Fyffes offshoot Total Produce is to form a joint venture in India with Tata Chemicals to distribute fresh fruit and vegetables.
Tata Chemicals, part of the steel maker Tata, has built up a network of agri-service centres that supply equipment and advice to farmers.
The first two centres to be set up by the joint venture will be in the north and east of the country at a total cost of €4.5 million.
