LONDON - A Japanese tourist who asked for directions to Turkey was surprised to find herself in Torquay.

LONDON - A Japanese tourist who asked for directions to Turkey was surprised to find herself in Torquay.

A railway guard whom Prof Kumiko Tshuchida (40) approached for help at Paddington station, London, misheard her and sent her to Torquay. When she arrived in the Devon resort just after midnight, she had been on the train so long, she thought she was in Turkey, where she lectures.
