BEIJING - Chinese archaeologists now believe that they were not the first to discover the famous terracotta tomb warriors - robbers plundered the North China site 1,800 years earlier.

It was previously thought that the life size baked clay statues which guard the tomb of China's first emperor Qin Shi Huang (259-210 BC) had not been discovered until 1974.
