A 22-month-old girl has died after falling 30 feet from a window in a Cork house.
Gardaí are investigating the death, which a Garda spokeswoman described as a "tragic accident".
It has been reported that the toddler fell from the top floor of a Hardwick Street property early yesterday afternoon and died in hospital early this morning.
A motorist reportedly found the girl with severe head injuries on the footpath below the three-storey house. Her parents were alerted to the accident by emergency services.
Gardaí said the parents had been unaware that the toddler had wandered off and fallen out the window.
