Miami - Plaintiffs in a landmark lawsuit targeting the tobacco industry over smoking-related illnesses yesterday asked a jury here to award them $154 billion.

The tobacco firms were found guilty last year of knowingly selling products that caused illnesses to users. A verdict is expected in the penalty phase of the case by the end of the month.
