Talks to avert the closure of the Tipperary Crystal plant in Carrick-on-Suir were continuing late yesterday. A spokesman for the company said significant progress had been made. The company had given the employees until today to accept changes, which involve the loss of 39 jobs and a reduction in earnings for other employees.
