LISBON - Mr Jose Ramos Horta, the East Timor resistance leader abroad, said he was lodging a complaint against Germany at the European Court of Human Rights over the ejection of nine East Timorese asylum seekers from the German Jakarta embassy.

Witnesses said the men were kicked and slapped by Indonesian soldiers after being handed over. They were then arrested according to a legal aid body.
