Tile company to create 30 jobs in Arklow

Turkish-owned VitrA Tiles is to invest €8 million in a new Arklow plant that will create 30 jobs.

Turkish-owned VitrA Tiles is to invest €8 million in a new Arklow plant that will create 30 jobs.

The investment was confirmed today by the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mr Abdullah Gül, and the Minister of State for European Affairs, Mr Dick Roche.

The additional jobs will bring the company's total employment in Arklow to 110.  Once the expansion is complete VitrA Tiles' production capacity will grow to 1,750 square metres of tiles per annum.

The company has a market share of 5 per cent in Ireland.
