Tijuana police chief shot dead

Mexico City - Unidentified gunmen yesterday shot and killed the chief of police in Mexico's northern border city of Tijuana.

Authorities said Mr Alfredo de la Torre was killed in a hail of about 100 bullets as he drove alone.
