The overall winner of the 1996 Dublin Corporation Tidy Districts Competition is Lorcan Green/Villas Environmental [Group, Beaumont. The prize was presented by the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mr Brendan Lynch, yesterday.
The Lorcan Green/Villas group also won the residential category of the Guinness Living Dublin Awards. The Poppintree Environmental Group and its project in Burren Court, a senior citizens complex in Ballymun, was runner up this year.
A prize fund of £6,000 was shared among 32 winners in 12 categories. The competition has been incorporated into the Guinness Living Dublin Awards, a joint initiative of Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Dublin Corporation and Guinness.
