A Limerick man jailed for 10 years last October for heroin possession yesterday received a further three years over possession of 9kg of cannabis in Co Waterford.

Gardaí using a search warrant found about 300 cannabis plants at the home of Denis McGrath (54), Knockacullen, Cappagh, on April 27th, 2010.

Sgt Donnacha Riordan told Judge Gerard Griffin in Waterford Circuit Court that 2kg of freshly cultivated cannabis were found in the house. The accused pleaded guilty to possession of the drugs. McGrath was jailed for five years with the last two years suspended.
