Three women were killed in road accidents at the weekend.

Ms Patricia Kinsella (62), of Redwood Rise, Kilnamanagh, was killed instantly when she was struck by a truck as she tried to cross the road in Tallaght at 3.45 p.m. on Friday.

Also on Friday Ms Mary Bracken (47), from Killoe, Co Longford, died when the car she was driving collided with a jeep at 7 p.m. The driver of the jeep and a passenger in the car were taken to Cavan General Hospital.

A woman in her late teens was killed and two others were injured in a two-car collision on Saturday. Ms Lynn Mitchell, from Kilcoole, Co Wicklow, died at 10 a.m. when the car in which she was travelling collided with another in Newcastle, Co Wicklow.
