Three people were injured in the K-Club this evening after high winds knocked down a tree and hoardings.

Shortly before 8pm a tree was knocked over injuring a woman on the main avenue at the Co Kildare golf course. A Garda spokeswoman said her injuries were not thought to be of a critical nature.

Two men were hurt when hoarding blew over at the North Bus Terminal. Their injuries are not critical either.

Medical aid was given on site to the injured, the spokeswoman said. "Immediate action was taken to remove any remaining spectators from the site. The site has now been secured and is subject to safety inspections," the Garda spokeswoman added.

It is not believed there will be an disruption to tomorrow's schedule of Ryder Cup events at the K-Club.
