Three people died in accidents yesterday. A lorry driver, Mr Peter Kenny, of Gortbeg Avenue, Finglas, was fatally injured when his vehicle collided head on with another lorry near Monasterevin, Co Kildare. The second driver was last night critically ill in Beaumont Hospital. Gardai at Kildare (045 21 222) want to contact the driver of a third lorry who may have been overtaken by one of the lorries before the crash.

In Co Kerry, a 50 year old woman died when her car was struck by a lorry at Beheen's West, Listowel.

A 54 year old fisherman, believed to be from Scotland, was killed in an accident on a trawler at Rossnveel Pier, Co Galway, last night, according to gardai.
