A Derry man was killed and three others injured in a road accident early yesterday at Magheracloi, near Raphoe, Co Donegal. Mr Michael Harkin (31), from Drumleck, Shantallow, died in the accident in which the car hit a tree. An elderly man died in a traffic accident at Newcastlewest, Co Limerick, yesterday. The pedestrian, in his 70s and from the locality, died after he was struck by a vehicle at Ballyfrawley.
In Cork, a naval diving team recovered the body of a man from the River Lee at Georges Quay yesterday.
