San Cristobal - Protests in Mexico to demand that the perpetrators of a pre-Christmas massacre be punished resulted in more bloodshed yesterday as police fired on demonstrators.

The shooting started in the impoverished Chiapas town of Ocosingo when demonstrators began throwing stones at a police patrol, which opened fire and injured three people, said town spokesman Mr Luis Meneses.
