Three men have been arrested following the seizure of cannabis plants in a raid in Co Carlow this evening.

Three men have been arrested following the seizure of cannabis plants in a raid in Co Carlow this evening.

About 500 plants and associated paraphernalia were discovered during the search of a property near Leighlinbridge.

The plants are estimated to have a street value of up to €200.000.

The three men arrested tonight, all of whom are in their 20s are being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act at Carlow Garda Station.

They can be detained for up to seven days.
