Three held on drugs charges

Three people charged arising out of a £130,000 drugs seizure in Galway last week appeared in court again in the city yesterday…

Three people charged arising out of a £130,000 drugs seizure in Galway last week appeared in court again in the city yesterday, when they were remanded in custody for a further week.

Solicitors for the three, two brothers and the fiancee of one of them, asked that they receive treatment for drug-addiction while in custody.

Mr Billy Ryan (32), his brother Mr Jimmy Ryan (30), and his fiancee Ms Bernadette Lambe (30), all of Claremont Park, Rahoon, Galway, were charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act, 1977, with having in their possession at Claremont Park, on dates unknown between September 1st and October 29th, cannabis resin, cannabis and cocaine. They were also charged with possession of these drugs for the purpose of selling them.
