Three held in dissident republican investigation

Three people have been arrested in Dundalk as part of a Garda investigation into the activities of dissident republicans.

Three people have been arrested in Dundalk as part of a Garda investigation into the activities of dissident republicans.

The two men and a woman were detained in Dundalk at 1.30pm by members of the Garda National Surveillance Unit, the Emergency Response Unit and local gardaí.

A firearm and a quantity of ammunition were also recovered.

The three are being under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act at Dundalk Garda Station.
