Three men were still being questioned by gardaí in Limerick last night following one of the biggest seizures of ecstasy in the city.

A total of 100,000 ecstasy tablets were found when gardaí stopped a van on the main Dublin to Limerick road on the outskirts of the city on Sunday morning.

The drugs have an estimated street value of €1.2 million and have been sent to Dublin for forensic examination.

The driver of the van, who is from Dublin, was arrested at Guhig near Castleconnell at 10.30 a.m.

Two men from Limerick were arrested shortly afterwards.
