THE president of the Royal Irish Academy, Prof Michael Herity, yesterday presented three Eoin O'Mahony Bursary awards, which are given to Irish scholars undertaking research abroad on historical subjects of Irish interest. Dr James Livesey, a Trinity College lecturer, will use a £300 bursary to visit the Bibliotheque Nationale in Paris. Mr Jim Rees of Bord na Mona received a £700 bursary to study emigrant departures from Wicklow to Canada. Dr Diane Urquhart of Queen's University will use a £400 bursary to study Derry family biographical sources in Britain.
