THE State industrial agency, Forbairt, will give every possible assistance to the Portarlington, Co Laois, engineering firm, Butlers, the House was told.
The Minister of State, Mr Pat Rabbitte, said the Government fully recognised the importance of the firm and the effect the loss of its 140 jobs would have on the area. He was responding, in an adjournment debate, to Mr Pat Gallagher (Lab, Laois Offaly).
