A threat by an anti-US militia to destroy infrastructure has prevented the restart of a main oil export pipeline in southern Iraq that was sabotaged four days ago.

Flows from southern oil fields to Iraq's Gulf terminals were running through a second pipeline at around one million barrels per day.

The larger pipeline has a capacity of around 1.5 million barrels per day.
