Gardaí are investigating a bank robbery that took place in Co Tipperary earlier today.
At about 10.30am, two men, reportedly armed with a machete and baton, entered the AIB branch in the village of Clogheen.
The two thieves, who were dressed as workmen, threatened staff and locked them in a vault on the premises. They then escaped with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
Gardaí later freed staff members who were physically unhurt but shocked.
Gardaí at Cahir Garda station (052-45630) are leading the investigation and have appealed for assistance from the public.
