Clonmel's innovative Galloglass company hit form last year with two widely contrasting European classics, both of which toured extensively. The first, launched in March, did not reach Dublin, an omission now being remedied. Federico Garcia Lorca's great tragic trilogy has a particular resonance for Irish people, with their themes of a peasant community oppressed by religious and pagan superstitions. Yerma (with Fionnuala Murphy, right) a tale of a woman's infertility and its consequences in a primitive society, strikes a universal chord. The company's style, blending life-size puppets with the live characters, finds the core of the drama. For the next three weeks, Dublin can catch up, at Andrews Lane Theatre, with its country cousins.
