Anyone who saw Michael Asher's gloriously cantankerous Channel 4 documentary about Lawrence of Arabia recently will know what to expect from The Last of the Bedu - and sure enough, it is by turns celebratory, grumpy, depressing and exhilarating. Asher presents a series of unforgettable images, hardly any of which conform to our timehonoured notion of the noble nomad.
