MERIDA, Mexico - Scientists from Britain, Canada, Mexico and the United States are probing the Chicxulub crater, which was formed 65 million years ago by a comet and may hold the key to the demise, of the dinosaurs.

According to one theory on the disappearance of the dinosaurs, dust from the comet's impact blocked the sun's rays and killed off vegetation that was vital to the dinosaur's habitat.
