Ten police officers were injured when a suspected stolen car rammed their vehicles in east Belfast today.

Ten police officers were injured when a suspected stolen car rammed their vehicles in east Belfast today.

Four police cars were damaged in the attack outside a primary school in the Knocknagoney area of the city. One man was arrested.

Police said a purple Vauxhall Calibra sped into two vehicles carrying the officers.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Police believe this car may have been stolen earlier in the Bangor area.

"All of the officers sustained minor injuries and two of the four police vehicles were slightly damaged. The remaining two were substantially damaged."
