A man (19) and a woman (17) are to appear before Lisburn magistrates court today to face charges relating to a fire at a Co Antrim primary school.

Both are charged with arson endangering life and were arrested after the fire at Largymore Primary in Lisburn just before 1am yesterday.

Three classrooms were wrecked, and there was smoke damage in the rest of the building.

School headmaster Harry Stewart said £2,000 of new play equipment bought with money raised by the Parent-Teacher Association had been destroyed in the fire.

He described the fire as devastating.
