Teenager killed in Tipperary crash

A teenage cyclist who collided with a motorbike in Tipperary yesterday has died in hospital, gardaí said today.

A teenage cyclist who collided with a motorbike in Tipperary yesterday has died in hospital, gardaí said today.

The 15-year-old boy suffered critical injuries in the crash at Greenane, Clonmel at 5.45pm yesterday.

Both were taken to the South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel, where the teenager lost his fight for life this morning.

Gardaí said the motorcyclist was not seriously injured.

Investigating officers at Clonmel garda station are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

Separately, an 83-year-old man died after he was hit by a car on the Shankill Road in north Belfast this morning.  The incident happened shortly before 8am and the man was taken to hospital but died as a result of his injuries.
