Teenager dies in tragic shooting incident

Boy (14) died in hospital this morning

A 14-year old boy has died after a shooting incident in Clondalkin last night.

Gardai say the boy was at the home in the Woodford area when he suffered a gunshot wound at around 10.15pm.

The teenager was taken to Tallaght hospital where his condition was last night described as critical. The boy died in the early hours of this morning.

Gardai say officers in Clondalkin are investigating all the circumstances surrounding the shooting. It is understood it is being treated as a tragic incident and not foul play.
